Getting started
What is ROVELA?
ROVELA is a travel payment app for visitors to Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Add money before or during your trip, then pay at shops straight from your phone.
Who can use ROVELA?
International travelers visiting Vietnam and Southeast Asia. You just need a valid passport to sign up.
What do I need to sign up?
Your passport and a few minutes. You verify your identity right inside the app.
Is it free to download?
Yes. Download and sign-up are free. A small fee applies only when you add money by card.
Verify your identity
How do I verify my identity?
Take a photo of your passport and a quick selfie in the app. It's usually verified in minutes.
Why do I need to verify?
It keeps your money safe and follows local rules for payment apps.

Make sure your passport photo is clear and well-lit, then try again. Still stuck? Contact support.
Add money
How do I add money?
Tap Top up and pay with your credit or debit card. Your balance is held in US dollars (USD).
What currency is my balance in?
US dollars (USD). We convert to the local currency (for example, VND in Vietnam) only at the moment you pay.
Is there a fee to add money?
Yes, a small percentage fee on card top-ups. You always see it before you confirm, and it may be waived during promotions.
What can I use to top up?
Three ways: credit or debit card, an overseas bank transfer, or crypto (USDT/USDC).
Is there a minimum or maximum?
Some limits may apply. You'll see them on the top-up screen.

How do I pay at a shop?
Scan the shop's QR payment code in the app and confirm. The shop is paid in local currency.
Where can I pay?
Anywhere that accepts local QR payments: shops, cafés, restaurants and markets across Vietnam, with Thailand, Indonesia and more of Southeast Asia coming soon.
What exchange rate do you use?
The bank's rate at the time you pay, with no extra markup from us.
Can I withdraw or pay in cash?
No. ROVELA is for QR payments made from your app balance.
A payment failed but money left my balance.
It's usually returned automatically. If it isn't, contact support with the payment details.

Where do I see my balance?
On the home screen, shown in USD.
Can I see my past payments?
Yes. Open Transaction history to see every top-up and payment.
After your trip
What happens to money I don't spend?
Your balance stays in your account and is valid for about 5 years. Use it on your next visit.
Can I get my unspent app balance refunded to my card?
Not at this time. Any unspent balance stays in the app for future use.

Is my money safe?
Your funds are held in a dedicated bank account, and your balance is tracked to your account.
Is ROVELA secure?
Yes. We use identity checks and secure technology to protect your account.

Contact support right away so we can help protect your account.
